The Know More Drugs Initiative

Know More Drugs is dedicated to providing factual, evidence-based education on recreational drug use and substance use disorders. Our mission is to provide overdose prevention and challenge deep-rooted stigma by dispelling the myths perpetuated by outdated and misleading narratives. We believe in empowering communities with accurate information and compassionate approaches to drug use and recovery.
Our Mission and Vision
- Challenge Stigma: We strive to replace negative stereotypes and misconceptions surrounding drug use with evidence-based facts. By educating the public, we aim to foster a more inclusive and understanding society.
- Provide Education: We offer resources and education on substance use disorder and recreational drug use. Our focus is on delivering accurate, science-backed information that helps individuals make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
- Promote Harm Reduction: Harm reduction is at the core of our approach. We educate communities on practical strategies to reduce the negative consequences of drug use, such as overdose prevention, safe consumption practices, and access to essential resources like naloxone.
- Support "Non Traditional" Recovery: We advocate for evidence-based, compassionate treatment methods for substance use disorders. We also know there are so many different ways to live life after chaotic drug use and encourage people to do whatever works for them.  Our goal is to support individuals in their recovery journey with approaches that are humane, respectful and effective.

What We Do

- Overdose Prevention Training: We conduct training sessions that teach individuals how to recognize and respond to overdoses. This includes providing free naloxone, test strips, CPR face masks and educational materials. We cater to high-risk but often forgot about populations such as the service industry and family members with loved ones who are soon being released from prison.
- Harm Reduction Education: We offer educational resources on various harm reduction strategies, including needle exchange programs, supervised consumption sites, and safe drug use practices.
- **Community Outreach**: We engage with communities to spread awareness about the realities of drug use and the importance of compassionate care. Our outreach efforts aim to build a supportive network for individuals affected by substance use disorders.

**Our Commitment**
At Know More Drugs, we are committed to creating a world where individuals struggling with substance use disorders are treated with dignity and respect. We believe that education and empathy are the keys to breaking down stigma and fostering a more compassionate approach to drug use and recovery.

**Our Structure**
Know More Drugs serves as the overarching organization that encompasses various outreach initiatives. Programs like Stop Overdose.net and others fall under the Know More Drugs umbrella. A Blazin Grace, my shop, supports Know More Drugs by contributing a portion of its profits to help fund our operations. Through an affiliation with the Department of Public Health, I obtain naloxone and fentanyl test strips, but expenses for materials, gas, and other costs are covered out of pocket. Your support helps us continue to provide essential resources and education to the community.

Looking for volunteers! Join us in our mission to challenge stigma, promote harm reduction, and support diverse paths to recovery. Together, we can build a future where truth, compassion and science lead the way.
